The recycling process is easy; however, some extra steps still need to be taken. You would think that all you need to do when bottle and can recycling is gather your bottles and cans then take them to the recycling station. This is correct, but you should take some extra steps to make the recycling process easier and stress-free.
These tips will especially help if you’re trying to get cash in exchange for bottle and can recycling. You should prepare your bottles and cans before you take them to your Adelaide recycling depot.
When you’re putting your bottles and cans into your recycling bin, ensure that you put only bottles and cans. It’s a common occurrence for people to lump in non-recyclables with what they plan to recycle. Mistakes like that often happen. So before taking your bottles and cans to your Adelaide recycling depot, check it again.
If there are other items mixed in with your recyclables, a lot of time will be wasted at the recycling depot. Because the attendants will have to sort your recyclables from the other times.
The corks on bottles can’t be recycled, so those have to be removed. Removing the bottle corks will make the process smoother at the recycling depot. If the corks aren’t removed, you’ll have to wait for the attendants to remove the corks off all your bottles. If you’ve recycled hundreds of bottles, you wouldn’t want to wait for all the covers to be removed.
You also have to clean the bottles and cans out of all chemical, liquid or food residue. Dirty cans and bottles can’t be recycled, so they’ll have to be cleaned out again. A new item can’t be made out of a dirty item.
It’s advisable to put your recyclable items into a sack so you can stack up enough. Putting your bottles and cans in a box won’t be convenient- you’ll have to keep on buying more boxes.
Once you’ve rounded up all your bottles and cans, it’s time to take them to the recycling depot, where they will be accepted.
